Billy's best friend and fiercest competitor is a bookish girl named Clara "The Cornhusker Smasher". She may wear glasses and carry around a calculus textbook, but she can smack a ping-pong ball with the power of a mini-tornado. They say she learnt her top-spin shot from a twister she once out-raced on her bicycle! Every weekend, these Ping-Pong Pioneers meet at Billy’s barn. It's a sight to see, a barn transformed into a ping-pong paradise, complete with hay-bale bleachers and corn-cob trophies.
