In the far-off, jaw-droppingly exquisite state of Montana, affectionately known as MT, a gaggle of kids were up to something extraordinary. MT is a place where the sky stretches wide as an ocean, and the mountains jut out like giant dragon's teeth against the horizon. It's a place where the buffalo roam, and the deer and the antelope really DO play! And, where grizzly bears, much like our humongous friend, Grizzly Gus, occasionally indulge in huckleberry ice-cream (but that's a story for another day). In this wild and wondrous state, a lively bunch of kiddos named the 'MT Art Marvels' were making magic happen. They were not wizards (though that would have been cool too), but they were printmakers, which some may argue, is even cooler! They twisted and twirled, dabbed and swirled, creating amazing works of art from nothing more than ink, paper, and their wild imaginations. And boy, did they have some whacky ideas! Their leader was an oddball named Picasso Pete. Now, Picasso Pete was as funny as a weasel in a tutu. He had a curly moustache that looked like two squirrels having a nap and an eccentric style that could outshine a rainbow. He was as imaginative as an antelope on roller skates, and as creative as a bison playing the banjo. Under his quirky guidance, the MT Art Marvels pressed flowers into their designs, smeared jam to make sticky sunsets, and even used spaghetti to create wiggly worms. Picasso Pete always said, "In Montana, we don't just make prints, we create memories!" And indeed, their printmaking activity was more than just art; it was an adventure under the wide Montana sky, with laughter echoing off the mountain sides.
