Once upon a time, in the sun-drenched southern state of Mississippi (or as the locals say, Mississippi, spelled M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I), a gaggle of bright-eyed, adventure-loving young kids gathered. These were no ordinary kids, they were the intrepid explorers of the Mississippi Mystery Squad, with their cool imaginary friend, the Gumbo Gator. Mississippi, with its sweeping landscapes of sprawling cotton fields and moss-drape trees, was a land of mystery and charm perfect for explorations. It was a place where the steamy, syrupy scent of magnolia blossoms swirled through the air, and the soft, gentle rhythm of the blues echoed across the mighty Mississippi river. The leader of the Mystery Squad was Little Lily, a girl with a bold heart and a pocketful of dreams. Her best friend was the Gumbo Gator, a mishmash of a creature with the snappy wit of a gator and the warmth of a bowl of gumbo soup. Always decked in a pair of oversized sunglasses and a floppy sunhat, Gumbo Gator was the jolliest, most helpful imaginary friend a kid could ever have. Whenever they stumbled upon a puzzle or a riddle, Gumbo would flip out his detective's hat, tap his snout in thought, and say something like: "Now, ain't that a pickle in a peach pie!" That was Gumbo Gator lingo for 'we've got a mystery on our hands.' And then, the kids of the Mississippi Mystery Squad, with their sunny spirits and infectious laughter, would set off on their adventurous exploits, ready to explore every nook and cranny of their beloved, magical state of Mississippi.
