Once upon a time, in the heart-shaped state of Missouri, also known as the “Show-Me State,” a bunch of enthusiastic and cheerful kids participated in one of the most surprising activities: Ceramics! Missouri, famous for its rolling hills and meandering rivers, barbecue delights and gateway arch, now had a new attraction - a group of tenacious tots playing with clay, just like mini Michelangelos. Guiding them on their clayful journeys was their fantastically funny friend, Clayman Cal. Cal was a cool imaginary character made entirely out of clay, with twinkling marble eyes, a button-like nose, a wide playful smile, and a mop of sunflower-seed hair. He was an absolute whiz at ceramics. He could pinch, coil and slab like nobody's business. When Cal touched clay, it came to life! These Missouri kids, known for their Midwestern charm and spirit, would eagerly gather around Clayman Cal, their eyes sparkling with anticipation. They loved when he would shape squishy blobs of clay into cute animals, magical castles, or sometimes, a hilarious sculpture of a cheeseburger with a teddy bear’s face! Laughter echoed across the hills of Missouri as their clay creations took shape, each more whimsical and wacky than the last. Clayman Cal, with his clayful magic and the children's vibrant imaginations, turned Missouri into a wild wonderland of ceramics. From Kansas City to St. Louis, kids were now shaping the state in their own delightful, clayful, playful way. And thus, the Show-Me State became the Show-Me-Your-Ceramics State, one hilarious clay creation at a time.
