The great state of Missouri, commonly known as MO, is located smack-dab in the middle of the United States. Now, when you think of Missouri, you might imagine a land full of cornfields, cows, and country music. Certainly not the first place that comes to mind when you think of surfing. Yet, in the most intriguing twist, there is a group of kids there who have turned the world of surfing on its head! Meet our cool imaginary friend, Wipeout Willy – the world's first squirrel who surfs. Willy hails from the Show-Me State, where there's more land than sea. He laughs and says, "Who needs the ocean when you have the mighty Mississippi River!" With his furry tail doubling as a rudder, Willy rides the river waves and teaches the kids of Missouri how to surf. On any given day, you'd find a pack of children, balancing on their boards, imitating Willy's funny surfing tricks. Each of them sporting a grin as big as the Grand Canyon. But it's not just about surfing; it's about the spirit of adventure. The kids in Missouri may not have the Pacific Ocean or the Atlantic Ocean, but they've got the Mississippi River and a squirrel named Wipeout Willy. And for them, that's plenty enough. So, next time someone says, "You can't surf in Missouri," just laugh and tell them about the landlocked surfing crew and their squirrel surfing coach, Wipeout Willy. And if they don't believe you, just tell them it's the "Show-Me State" for a reason!
