Once upon a time, in the heartland of America, there's a state named Missouri, or MO for short. It's a place of rolling hills, sprawling farms, bustling cities, and beautiful rivers. It's a place so diverse that one side is sipping sweet iced tea while the other is munching on hotdogs at a baseball game. In this exciting state, a gang of kids has taken up a challenge, a very unusual sporting activity for Missourians, called Cricket. Yes, Cricket, that centuries-old sport from England, where the players wear white, and the rules can seem as complicated as your grandma's secret apple pie recipe. Among these kids, there is a unique character, a boy with a funny nickname, "Wobbly Wombat". Wombat, because he had a strange, bouncing walk, just like the cuddly creature from down under, Australia. And Wobbly, well, because he'd wobble around like a jelly when he laughed, which was pretty much all the time! Wobbly Wombat was the heart and soul of the MO cricket kids. He'd run around, his belly jiggling, and bat with a style that was a cross between baseball and a chaotic dance. He couldn't bowl without tripping over his feet, but boy, when he did manage to hurl that ball, it spun like a tornado! The kids in MO loved their cricket. It might've been strange to the rest of the state, but these kids, led by their jelly-belly champ, Wobbly Wombat, were having the time of their lives. And slowly but surely, they were turning the heartland into a hotbed of cricket lovers. In the land of Cardinals and Royals, the sound of willow hitting a cricket ball was a sweet symphony that was catching on.
