Maine, or ME, as the locals lovingly call it, was a place where the air smells of fresh pine trees and the lobster is always juicy. It was a place where kids loved to play, especially football, and they were good at it too! These children of the Pine Tree State had an extraordinary ability to run like the wind, dodging and weaving through the wiry trees of the dense forest, making them unbelievable football players. Now, meet our star, Mr. Moose, a cool and comical character who took pride in watching these kids. Mr. Moose, with his enormous antlers and a belly full of blueberries, was a friendly giant who lived in the vast woods of Maine. He would often be seen peeping through the trees, cheering for the kids as they played football. These Maine kids were as tough as the sturdy pine trees, and as swift as the flowing Kennebec River. Their determination was as fiery as the flaming red leaves in the fall. Plus, they had a secret weapon - their football was a magical lobster shell! Whenever they'd kick it, it would zigzag in the air like a lightning bolt, making a 'ZAP' sound that echoed through the woods, leaving Mr. Moose in fits of laughter. "ZAP, there it goes again!" he would chuckle, each time the lobster-shell ball whizzed past him. His antlers would wobble with laughter, shaking off a shower of leaves onto the ground. Mr. Moose loved these Maine kids. He loved their spirit, their competitiveness, and their love for the game of football. But above all, he loved their laughter that rang through the forest, filling the air with joy. The kids of Maine and their football games were indeed the heart and soul of this beautiful state.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
