Doodle loves to tell stories about his adventures on the high seas, each one more wildly exaggerated than the last. Once, he claimed to have seen a rainbow-colored whale that spat out colorful water jets, which he used to paint his ship! But what Doodle loves most is inspiring the kids. He teaches them how to see the fantastic in the ordinary, how a simple box could be a rocket to the moon, or a paper plate could be a warrior's mighty shield. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Not only do parents/guardians help out in the classroom, but also maintain the building and grounds throughout the year. This involvement helps to create a strong bond between the parent/guardian and their child's preschool experience, and provides the opportunity for the child to see that their education is an important part of everyday family life. The Sturbridge Nursery School focuses on teaching children the important skills necessary to become successful in kindergarten, such as how to work and play with other children while also promoting healthy habits. This kid’s art studio offers a wide variety of activities for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students. In the front room, there are low tables and chairs, four sections for easel painting, and two easels with chalk and dry erase markers – as well as plenty of art supplies and techniques for your child to explore. Ohoodles of Doodles also caters to older elementary and teenage students. In the back room, there is a cabinet full of supplies and canvases to paint on, as well as a cozy space for parents and caregivers to relax.
