Sketchy was a cool, comedic character with a fluffy tail, a beret on his head, and a paintbrush always in hand. He had a magical ability to turn anything into a masterpiece, be it a simple acorn or an old shoe. The kids adored Sketchy for his humor, often erupting into laughter when he accidentally painted himself in rainbow colors or glued googly eyes on his tail. Every day, the Cool Crafters embarked on adventures across the rolling hills, flowing rivers, and dense forests of Kentucky, gathering materials for their art and crafts projects. They used everything from fallen leaves to smooth pebbles, vibrant wildflowers, and even the odd chicken feather to create their masterpieces. With Sketchy's help, they painted sunsets as blue as the Kentucky grass, crafted sculptures that rivaled the stalagmites in Mammoth Cave, and designed intricate jewelry inspired by the fireflies dancing under the starlit Kentucky sky. Their artistic wonders were always a sight to behold, filled with fun, creativity, and the true spirit of Kentucky. What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. Our unique educational approach combines the elements of art, yoga, meditation, and nature to create a holistic learning environment. This distinctive blend is what sets Spark apart, allowing us to reach and inspire a multitude of children in truly meaningful ways. With an array of offerings to accommodate various schedules and needs, Spark has something for everyone. Our services extend beyond the standard after school and weekend classes to include holiday and summer camps, birthday parties, portfolio preparation, private classes, and custom pods. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. The Cathedral Domain was initially inspired, conceived and started by Bishop Moody as a boys’ camp and is operated under the auspice of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington. The camp has grown from just a boys’ camp to a multipurpose children's camp, family, church, and business retreat. Covering over 800 acres in the mountains of Lee County, “The Domain” is 1½ hours south of Lexington, Kentucky and adjoins the Daniel Boone National Forest. Our facilities include a recreational pavilion, playground, activity field, pool, archery range, nature center, rock climbing and repelling stations, hiking, fishing, and much more.
