In the verdant, rolling hills of Kentucky, there's a group of youngsters with a knack for glamour and style, known as the KY Kids Model Troop. Now, Kentucky, famously known as the Bluegrass State, is brimming with horse races, bourbon distilleries, and mouthwatering fried chicken. But these kids? They're serving up their own brand of southern charm, swapping mint juleps for makeup brushes and racetracks for runways. Imagine being a member of this dynamic bunch, led by our amusing and eccentric leader, Montgomery Gumboots. Monty, as he likes to be called, is a flamboyant peacock from Louisville who moonlights as a fashion stylist. With his resplendent plumage and bedazzled boots (hence his name), Monty teaches these kids to strut their stuff with confidence and pizzazz. Our KY kids are as diverse as the state's landscapes, from the bustle of Lexington to the tranquillity of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Among them, you'll find Sally, the sorghum farmer's daughter from Bowling Green, who makes chic outfits from her dad's old burlap sacks. Then there's Leroy, the basketball fanatic from Paducah, who seamlessly blends athleticism with high fashion. And who could forget twins Libby and Lulu from Pikeville, who despite their coal-miner heritage, sparkle brighter than any diamond on the catwalk. To meet them is a hoot! These kids, with Monty's guidance, are twisting the stereotypes on their heads, making Kentucky as synonymous with style as it is with bluegrass. They're proving that you can have your fried chicken and eat it too, or in their case, have your modeling career and still be a down-to-earth Kentucky kid.
