In the sunny, wheat-gilded prairies of Kansas, where twisters dance and the buffalo roam, a peculiar group of kids have decided to rebel against the landlocked norms. These audacious adventurers, known as the Prairie Surfers, have traded in their cowboy boots for neoprene wetsuits and their horses for surfboards! Contrary to popular belief, surfing in Kansas isn't only a wild flight of fancy, it's a reality! You may not find any undulating waves in the Kansas River, but the Prairie Surfers don’t let that stop them. They surf down the large, rolling hills of wheat, corn, and sunflowers, their surfboards leaving a trail of dust in their wake. Leading the wave-less brigade is the ever-enthusiastic, funny and charismatic character - Cowabunga Carl. Don’t let the name deceive you, while Carl may not be your typical beach-blonde surfer dude, he is the heart and soul of the prairie surfing movement. With a head as shiny as a Kansas sunset and a belly that jiggles like a bowl full of jelly, Cowabunga Carl teaches kids that the real waves aren't in the ocean, but in the imagination. Carl, with his infectious laughter and outrageous surfing tricks, often sends the prairie dogs, cows, and even an occasional scarecrow or two into fits of giggles. His favorite move? The Tornado Twister, a whirlwind of a trick that sends a gust of Kansas wind sweeping across the plains! These hearty Kansan kids, under the hilarious guidance of Cowabunga Carl, are proving that you don't need an ocean to surf - all you need is a sense of humor, a dash of daring, and a boundless prairie imagination!
