In the wild and whirling world of Wacky Wichita, the biggest state of Kansas, a bustling bunch of brave kids, known as the "Kansas Kid Archers," were famous for their arrow-aiming antics. They were as sprightly as sunflowers, as swift as the wind that swept across the Great Plains, and sharper than the prairie dog's bark. These kids had a special knack for archery, each one possessing a unique quiver of quirks that made their arrow-shooting techniques stand out. There was "Bullseye Billy," who could hit a target blindfolded while standing on one leg. "Farsight Fiona" could spot a speck of dust on an arrow's feather from fifty feet away. And then there was "Tornado Tommy." His arrows spun so fast they created mini twisters, causing quite a ruckus among the prairie dogs! This crazy crew of kids would gallivant across the Golden Wheat fields, their bows glinting under the warm Kansas sun, and their laughter echoing through the endless expanses. They would hold impromptu competitions near the Smoky Hill River, their arrows zipping through the air like tiny comets, always hitting the mark with a satisfying 'thwack!' For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Camp Quaker Haven is the perfect place for your child to spend their summer! Located in the Midwest, this camp is the official site of the Mid-America Yearly Meeting, composed of Friends Churches in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. It also runs several interdenominational summer camps for high school and junior high aged youth. At Camp Quaker Haven, your child will be inspired by the beauty of God's creation and the powerful message of His Word. Campers will be encouraged to discover their relationship with the Lord and to understand their importance to Him. By the end of their stay, campers will be fully aware of their special place in God's kingdom.
