Nestled in the heart of America, wrapped in green cornfields and crowned with racing cars, lies the wonderful Hoosier state of Indiana. It was a place where music mingled with laughter, and the aroma of scrumptious pies wafted from homely kitchens. In this splendid state, there was a unique bunch of kids who, like little bees, buzzed with energy and enthusiasm. They were the 'Religious Rascals', a high-spirited gang whose favorite hangout was not the ice-cream parlor, nor the arcade, but the local church. Among these Religious Rascals, the ringleader was a cool imaginary character named Chuckleberry Finn. Now, Chuckleberry wasn't your regular church mouse. Oh, no! He was a church kangaroo! Hopping around with a Bible in his pouch, he made learning about religion a hoot for his friends. Chuckleberry Finn loved surprises. One day, he'd pop up behind the altar with a funny hat and recite a verse in a goofy voice. Another day, he'd bounce into the Sunday school resembling Moses, but with a broomstick instead of a staff! With his hilarious antics and heartwarming stories, he made the kids giggle, and the church reverberate with mirth. These Religious Rascals and Chuckleberry Finn didn't just sit around, twiddling their thumbs. They were the beating heart of the church in Indiana, participating in service activities with a merry hum. They made the elderly smile with their innocent chatter, spread warmth with their handmade gifts, and brought joy to everyone around them. And so, in the heartland of America, within the beautiful state of Indiana, the Religious Rascals and Chuckleberry Finn made sure that their church wasn't just a place of worship, but a home bursting with laughter, love, and boundless joy.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
During the non-summer months, Camp Allendale is transformed into a Retreat Center.
