Once upon a time, in the splendid state of Indiana, affectionately known as IN, there dwelt a gang of young, creative prodigies known as the "Hoosier Harmonizers". The land of IN was as diverse as a painter's palette, scattered with farmlands, forests, and the bustling cityscapes of Indianapolis. This was the perfect backdrop for their greatest passion: songwriting! The Hoosier Harmonizers were a group of children, each with wild imaginations and a bucket full of rhymes. Their ideas flew faster than corn popping off an overheated stove—sometimes literally! Their leader, a freckle-faced, curly-headed chap named Mel O'Dious, was so full of melody that tunes literally flowed out of his ears. It was hilarious to see him try to catch those notes before they flew away! Mel and his team of tuneful tyros would gather in their secret clubhouse (which, between us, was a gigantic old oak tree hollowed out by the sound of their harmonies) to create songs that made hearts flutter, feet tap, and sometimes, even the cows moo in rhythm. They wrote about everything from racing Indy cars, to the sweetest corn on the cob, to the world's longest recorded echo in the Indiana Dunes. It was often said that if you journeyed across the state of Indiana and listened closely, you could hear the sweet melodies of the Hoosier Harmonizers floating on the breeze. At times, it was a soft lullaby that convinced the sun to set, at others a lively jig that made the fireflies dance. And sometimes, if you were really, really lucky, you'd hear a song so beautiful that it could turn the prickliest porcupine into a ball of mush!
