The great state of Illinois, affectionately known as the "Land of Lincoln," is like a giant playground filled with cornfields, skyscrapers, and a grand river that winks under the sun. It's a place where the wind whizzes around like a happy hummingbird, whispering tales in your ear as you run through fields chasing fireflies. Now, let's talk about an exceptional group of kids from Illinois. These aren't your regular kids. Oh no, they're something really special. They're the Storytelling Squad! They're like superheroes but instead of capes, they wear imaginations brighter than the Chicago skyline at night. Their superpower? Telling stories so gripping, the cornfields sway in excitement, the Mississippi River slows down to listen, and even the winds hush to hear the tales. Leading the pack is Tommy Twister, a boy with a wild mop of hair and a twinkle in his eye that just screams mischief. Tommy doesn’t just tell stories; he spins them, twists them and turns them into magical yarns of adventure and laughter. With a wave of his hand and a flash of his grin, monsters turn into fluffy pink bunnies, and grumpy old trolls burst out in giggles. Every day, the Storytelling Squad meets under the grand old Willow tree in Lincoln Park. As they take turns weaving tales that make the sunflowers dance and the squirrels chuckle, the whole of Illinois seem to hold its breath, waiting for the next thrilling tale. So, if you're ever in the Land of Lincoln and hear a whisper in the wind, know it's just Tommy and the Storytelling Squad, filling the air with magic and laughter.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
