In the heart of the United States lies a land of rolling hills, waving corn fields, and endless skies, a magical place known as Iowa. Just like one of its symbols, the Eastern Goldfinch, the kids here flit and flutter with energy that would put a hyperactive bunny to shame. In particular, there's a bunch of kids who've decided to swap their video games and comic books for spades and watering cans, plunging headfirst into the world of gardening. Enter our hero of the story - the fearless, the daring, the green-thumbed, Captain Compost! Donning a cape made from corn husks and a pair of chipped rubber boots, he leads this merry band of garden warriors. Their motto? "We grow our fun, one seed at a time!" Under the Captain's watchful eye, each kid has found their own unique superpower. Some have an uncanny knack for finding the juiciest worms for the compost (which they've named "Worm Wrestling"), others can tell with a single touch which plant needs watering (and they've dubbed this radical ability "Moisture Mapping"). These Iowa youngsters have turned their backyards into jungles of sunflowers reaching for the sky, forests of green beans ready to be picked and purple seas of lavender buzzing with bees. They have a hilarious rivalry with the squirrels, who think the tomato plants are their personal snack bar, leading to some epic and comical "Tomato Tug of Wars". So, chuckle away as you get lost in their muddy adventures under the wide Iowa sky. Gardening in Iowa, led by the amazing Captain Compost and his earthy crew, is not just a hobby; it's a laugh-out-loud, dirt-under-your-nails, sun-on-your-face, bucket-full-of-joy kind of lifestyle!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
