Instead of climbing hay bales or riding tractors, these kids ascended silky ribbons, twirling and spinning in the air like tops. They swung on trapezes, flipped, and somersaulted like they had wings. They were more bird than human, defying gravity and making the sky their playground. Their leader was a charismatic chap named Gravity Gus. Now, don't let his name mislead you. Gus had nothing to do with gravity. In fact, he spent most of his time defying it! With a shock of red hair sticking up like a rooster's crest and freckles dotting his cheeks like sprinkles on a cupcake, he was a sight to behold. Gus had a laugh that could shake an entire cornfield, and even the crows couldn't help but giggle along.
