Once upon a time in the sunny state of Florida, where palm trees sway lazily and dolphins can be seen frolicking in the ocean, a group of dynamic and vivacious kids formed an extraordinary squad, aptly named the 'Sunshine Sprouts'. They weren't just any ordinary bunch of children, but mini moguls in the making. These pint-sized entrepreneurs had a knack for transforming lemons into lemonade, both metaphorically and literally! Leading the pack was a cool yet imaginary character named Captain Cash-a-lot! He was a comical, somewhat eccentric fellow with flamingo pink hair, a passion for oranges, and an uncanny ability to inspire the 'Sunshine Sprouts' with his quirky business ideas. He wore sunglasses shaped like dollar signs, and had a pet alligator named 'Profit', who loved to munch on business plans. Captain Cash-a-lot and the Sunshine Sprouts were quite a sight to behold, huddled together under the shade of a coconut tree, scribbling their entrepreneurial masterplans on banana leaves with colored seashells. They hosted sandcastle-building contests, offered surfboard rental services, and even operated beachside lemonade stands. They always had a trove of fresh, creative ideas that kept the Floridian beaches buzzing with excitement. Through their entrepreneurial adventures, the 'Sunshine Sprouts' learned valuable lessons of teamwork, creativity, and resilience. They embraced challenges with sunny smiles, proving that being small in size doesn’t mean you can’t dream big. And whenever they made some cash-a-lot, they’d celebrate with a hearty cheer, "To infinity and beyond, from Florida with love and lemons!" Girl Scout Camp Telogia is a 9.5-acre paradise, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland. This camp has been a beloved part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida since 1961, when Broward County gifted the land to the organization. In 2018, plans to permanently abandon the property were suspended and in 2019 a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted. Camp Telogia will soon be ready to welcome Girl Scouts for daytime and evening activities. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is delighted to announce that Camp Telogia will soon be restored and revitalized to its former glory.
