In the tiny, yet mighty state of Delaware, a group of adventurous youngsters are not just playing video games or shooting hoops. Nope, they are mastering the ancient martial art of Kobudo right in their own backyard! Delaware, also known as the 'Diamond State', is the first state in the United States and is as shiny and spunky as a diamond, just like our Kobudo Kiddos! Meet our imaginary character, Captain Kobudo, a hilarious and unconventional superhero with a big belly laugh and a belt full of Kobudo tricks. Unlike other superheroes, he doesn't fly or shoot lasers. Instead, he wields traditional Okinawan weapons and teaches these secrets to our Kobudo Kiddos. These young martial artists are as courageous and strong as Hercules, but as jolly and mischievous as a pack of playful puppies! Now picture this – a typical day in Kobudo class. The kids are lined up, their faces masked by stern concentration. Suddenly, Captain Kobudo, who's been stealthily creeping up behind them, lets out a loud "BOO!". Startled, they whip around, only to dissolve into fits of laughter seeing their beloved Captain clutching his belly and laughing so hard, he's rolling on the mat. These Delaware kids, my friend, are not just learning ancient martial arts. They're also learning the power of laughter and the value of camaraderie. They're learning that strength isn't just in the muscles, but in character too, and having fun is just as important as the art of Kobudo. Because in the end, what’s the point of being a Kobudo Kiddo if you can’t have a belly laugh while doing it? Just ask Captain Kobudo – he’ll tell you!
