Once upon a time, in the magical state of Connecticut, famed for its stunning seaports, lush green landscapes, and rich historical charm, there was a lively group of kids known as the Capoeira Crew. This wasn't your average bunch of kids, oh no! They were a spectacular squad of super-flexy, ultra-cool, rhythm-rumbling capoeira enthusiasts. Their leader was none other than the legendary Kiko the Kangaroo, who wasn't really a kangaroo, but hopped around so much while practicing capoeira that the name just stuck. Kiko was known for his swift moves, lightning-speed kicks, and his unique ability to flip like a pancake on a griddle. He could whip out an Au (cartwheel) in the blink of an eye and balance in a Bananeira (handstand) without a single wobble. Together, Kiko and the Capoeira Crew made Connecticut's parks, beaches, and playgrounds their personal dance floor, where they spun, flipped, and kicked to the captivating rhythms of capoeira. Whether it was the golden hue of a summer's evening or the vibrant colors of a fall afternoon, the sound of their laughter and the rhythm of their berimbau drums echoed across the state, filling Connecticut with a unique energy only the Capoeira Crew could create. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992.
