Once upon a time, in the colorful, sun-drenched state of California, a band of brave and adventurous kids embarked on a thrilling journey. These weren't your ordinary California kids, oh no, they were the valiant warriors of Field Hockey! They hailed from the sandy beaches of San Diego to the sparkling towers of San Francisco, and even from the majestic mountains of Yosemite. Our protagonist was a peppy, purple penguin named Puck. Now, you may be wondering, "A penguin playing field hockey in California? That's preposterous!" But Puck was no ordinary penguin. He had traded the icy chills of Antarctica for the golden heat of California to lead this band of field hockey fanatics. The California kids and Puck practiced relentlessly, their laughter echoing across the fields as they tried to master their hockey skills. Puck would often tumble head over heels in his attempts to score goals, leaving the kids in fits of giggles. In the balmy afternoons, they would often pause for a snack break, munching on everything from juicy oranges to crunchy tacos, to refuel their energy. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
We also offer Live Online Programs for kids ages 4 to 18. Programs are taught by experienced professionals and include coding, robotics, 3D modeling, filmmaking, music production, graphic design, and more. We partner with schools and local parks and recreations to ensure that our programs meet the current and future enrichment needs of your child.
