Its stretches of sun-kissed beaches dotted with towering palm trees, ice-cream stalls, and the frequent smell of barbecued-hot dogs in the air create a perfect paradise for these Surfing Sprouts. Among them, there is a legendary character, "Bodacious Benny". Benny is a surfing maestro who could ride a wave even before he could walk! He's a 10-year-old dude with sun-bleached hair and a cheeky grin that stretches from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Benny is not only known for his rad surfing skills but also for his hilarious pranks. He once surfed a monstrous wave with a rubber duckie strapped to his head, quacking all the way to the shore, making everyone roar with laughter. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Camp Butano Creek, owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Northern California, is the perfect spot for budding adventurers. Girls entering grades 4-12 in the fall are invited to join us for a summer filled with self-discovery and nature exploration. From the Pacific coastline to the coastal mountains, there are plenty of exciting activities to choose from, such as: surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, horseback riding and field archery. Plus, campers in their 11th grade have the chance to take part in our Counselor-In-Training program.
