In the heart of the magnificent United States, somewhere between the whispering Mississippi River and the towering Ozark Mountains, lies the fascinating state of Arkansas, or as the locals say, 'AR.' AR, a place where sundrenched days transform into starlit nights, where the scent of wildflowers dances gently in the air, and where the rugged outside is never short of an uproarious adventure for children, especially the kayaking enthusiasts! Now, let’s introduce our cool imaginary character, Captain Quacky, a quirky, web-footed duck with a patch over one eye, who is the unofficial mascot of the AR kayaking crew! With a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a big, hearty "QUACK," he encourages all the kids to paddle harder and explore further during their kayak journeys. Unpredictably funny and a master of duck-style comedy, Captain Quacky always has a hilarious jest up his feathered sleeves. He possesses a magical kayak, which he refers to as the 'Splashing Thunder,' and often entertains the children with utterly funny tales of his legendary escapades on the rivers around the state. The kids in AR are nothing less than fearless voyagers, paddling their colorful kayaks down the playful rivers, their laughter echoing in the surrounding wilderness. With Captain Quacky leading their flotilla, they are a sight to behold. They are not just kids; they're mini-explorers, discovering every ripple and splash the Arkansas rivers have to offer. When the day ends, these young adventurers return home, their hearts full of the day's adventures and their minds brimming with Captain Quacky's rib-tickling tales. To them, kayaking in AR is not just a sport, but a world filled with laughter, learning, and lots of splashing around!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
