A man whose beard holds more icicles than a Christmas tree has ornaments, and with a laugh that sends shivers down even the thickest winter coats. He's as Alaskan as it comes - riding a snowmobile to work, wrestling polar bears for fun, and using glaciers as his personal skate park. These young thrill-seekers, fueled by hot cocoa and a burning desire to defy gravity, strap themselves into their harnesses, put on their bravest faces, and zip through the icy air. With each successful landing, their laughter echoes through the snowy valleys, louder than a walrus belting out its favorite sea shanty. They are fearless, they are daring, and they are as cool as the Alaskan glaciers themselves. The zip lining kids of Alaska are a rare breed, braver than brave, cooler than cold. Globe Creek Camp is the answer to my prayers. It provides the quality outdoor opportunities for our youth that are so hard to find these days. Youth today are so often stuck in front of screens and have no idea what opportunities may be out there in the world. Globe Creek Camp helps to break them out of this bubble and give them the chance to explore and discover what life has to offer outside of the normal routine. Through group recreation and activities, youth can learn to be courageous and overcome challenges that they may not have been able to face alone. At Globe Creek Camp, we provide a safe and nurturing environment for our youth to explore and grow. We strive to provide the best outdoor experience possible, and hope that our youth will leave camp with a new found confidence and strength.
